What is Import License for Restricted Items?
1)Restricted Items: Imports of which are allowed against an Import License (Authorisation) or in accordance with a public notice that specifies the conditions under which these items can be imported.
2)Freely Importable: those which can be freely imported
3)Prohibited Items: Import of which are not allowed.
Import of goods that is permitted only with an Authorisation/License/Permission are ‘Restricted’ goods. Import of certain goods is restricted to safeguard the interests of the domestic industry consisting of local manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers.
